Thirteen domestic and international flights were affected because of the heavy rain brought by the southwest monsoon on Monday.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said eight of the affected flights bound to Manila or Clark were diverted.

The affected flights diverted to Manila were from Vancouver, Tacloban, Dubai, San Francisco, Da Nang and Bacolod while one flight from China was diverted to Clark.

It also recorded three missed-approach flights, two from Seoul to Clark and another one from Singapore to Clark and two go-around flights bound to Manila from Taipei and Caticlan.

The airlines of the affected flights include Air Canada, Cebu Pacific Air, Philippines Airlines, Philippines AirAsia. Emirates, Central Airlines, Jin Air, Jeju Air, and Scoot. Robina Asido/PHS
