PAF, JASDF hold subject matter expert exchange
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) visited the Philippine Air Force (PAF) on July 2 at Clark Air Base while en route to Australia for the Japan–United States–Australia Trilateral Exercise “Southern Cross 26.”
Marking a first, JASDF's E-2D Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft landed in the Philippines, underscoring the growing depth of operational cooperation and interoperability.
The JASDF delegation paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Command Staff, Air Defense Command (ADC), reaffirming the strong defense partnership between the two air forces.
As part of the visit, the JASDF and PAF conducted a subject matter expert exchange focusing on aircraft maintenance.
Subject matter experts from the 410th Maintenance Wing and the 220th Airlift Wing exchanged professional knowledge, technical expertise, and best practices, providing an opportunity to strengthen maintenance capabilities and foster greater cooperation between the two air forces.
The visit underscores the continuing commitment of the Philippine Air Force and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force to strengthening bilateral defense cooperation through professional military engagements and capacity-building initiatives. Air Force Public Affairs Office
