88 areas under state of calamity after storms
Eighty eight areas were placed under state of calamity following the series of weather disturbances that recently affected different parts of the country.
The areas under state of calamity includes the entire province of Bataan, Bulacan, Cavite and Pampanga as well as the city of Dagupan, Rodriguez in Rizal, Nasugbu in Batangas and four towns in Pangasinan.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) also reported over P5 billion worth of damage and losses because of the combined effect of tropical storms ''Luis'', ''Maymay'', ''Neneng'' which enhanced the southwest monsoon.
The damage to infrastructure reached P 4,879,579,836 while agricultural losses climbed to P 1,726,292,918.
The death toll is now at 29 while three remain missing and 19 were injured.
A total of 1,905,622 families or 6,620,335 persons were affected, of which 15,523 families or 52,543 were being served inside the 701 evacuation centers. Robina Asido/PHS
