Warning signals still up in some parts of Cagayan as ''Francisco'' moves towards Philippine Sea
Batanes and the northeastern part of Cagayan remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number One even as Typhoon ''Francisco'' weakens further while moving toward the Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.
Portions of Cagayan remaining under signal number one were Gonzaga, Santa Ana and Babuyan Islands.
Meanwhile, the province of Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and Antique may experience 50 to 100 mm rainfall due to the effect of the Southwest monsoon.
Typhoon Francisco with maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 170 km/h was last spotted at 295 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes while moving westward.
According to the state weather bureau "Francisco will continue moving northward until tomorrow (25 June) before turning north northeastward towards the Ryukyu Islands and sea south of mainland Japan."
The track forecast shows that, "Francisco will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday (25 June) evening" and "will likely remain a typhoon while inside the Philippine area of responsibility". Robina Asido/PHS
