President Marcos ordered all concerned agencies to act without delay, emphasizing that protecting lives and restoring normalcy remained the government’s highest priority.

The Office of Civil Defense and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council were mobilized to coordinate response efforts and monitor affected communities around the clock.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development was directed to preposition relief goods and ensure that evacuation centers were ready to receive displaced families.

The administration likewise continued efforts to shield consumers from high food prices, with the Department of Agriculture studying the extension of the PhP50-per-kilo maximum suggested retail price for rice.

Malacañang also expressed sympathy over the deaths of two Ateneo student-athletes and reiterated the President’s call for a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure accountability and prevent similar tragedies.

During the 128th Independence Day celebration at the Quirino Grandstand, President Marcos called on Filipinos to uphold unity, freedom, and patriotism while confronting modern challenges such as poverty, corruption, division, and climate change.

Capping the week, President Marcos hosted the traditional Vin d’Honneur at Malacañang, where he reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to multilateralism, international cooperation, and a rules-based global order.

The President underscored the country’s growing role in regional and international affairs following the successful hosting of the ASEAN Summit and preparations for future diplomatic engagements.

He also announced plans to expand the Philippines’ diplomatic footprint through the opening of a new embassy in Kazakhstan and a new Consulate General in Miami, Florida, strengthening services for overseas Filipinos while opening new avenues for trade, investment, and cultural cooperation.
