President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered concerned government agencies to track down fugitives hiding abroad, Malacañang said Wednesday.

“Kung ano ang dapat gawin ng gobyerno, kung ano ang mga nasasaad sa ating batas, gawin ang dapat gawin… iyan ang utos ng Pangulo,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said during a briefing.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Tuesday confirmed that businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, who has been linked to the disappearance of several cockfighting enthusiasts, has left the country. Remulla claimed that he is in Cambodia.

Storycon quoted Justice Secretary Frederrick Vida as saying there is no report that Ang left the country.

Castro said President Marcos has directed authorities to act immediately.

Castro also assured the families of the victims of the “sabungeros” that the warrant of arrest against Ang will not prescribe due to the gravity of the charges. Presidential News Desk-PHS
