Anti-graft court suspends senator for 90 days
The third division of the Sandiganbayan, an anti-graft court, suspended detained Senator Rodante Marcoleta on Monday.
Marcoleta and three others were arrested for a P75 million plunder case by the anti-graft court last July 6. The amount is said to be campaign donations for his 2024 senatorial bid,
The senator also faces three counts of alleged violation of a presidential decree that prohibits government officials from receiving gifts.
Marcoleta has denied these charges. He is the second senator to be arrested after Jinggoy Estrada on June 1. Estrada is also suspended by the Sandiganbayan. PHS
