The Philippine Navy placed third at a live fire event of the recently concluded worlds largest international maritime exercise hosted biennially by the United States Pacific Fleet.

Capt. Marissa Martinez, Philippine Navy spokesperson, said the Philippine contingent aboard BRP Miguel Malvar exceptionally performed during the 30th Rim of the Pacific Exercise (Rimpac) that was participated by 30 nations, 30 ships and five submarines from June 24 to July 31.

"Among its notable achievements, the Philippine Navy earned an impressive third- place in the highly competitive Naval Surface Fire Support multinational live fire event, highlighting the professionalism and competency of its personnel," she said.

"The Navy also successfully participated in a broad range of advanced training activities, including complex maritime operations, anti-submarine warfare, mine warfare, and other multi-domain warfare exercises," she added.

Martinez said "these accomplishments reflect the Philippine Navy's operational readiness, competence, and ability to perform effectively in demanding multinational environments."

"Beyond these operational gains, the Philippine Navy's participation further strengthened its relationships with allied and partner navies through sustained collaboration and combined training. The exercise enhanced coordination, reinforced mutual confidence, and improved interoperability and cooperation, enabling participating navies to operate more effectively," she said.

"Through its successful participation in Rimpac 2026, the Philippine Navy reaffirmed its commitment to developing a modern, multi-domain, and self-reliant naval force while strengthening its role as a reliable regional partner, contributing to peace, stability, and the rules-based order in the Region," she added.
