Cash remittances reach $2.7b in May
Cash remittances increased year-on-year in May 2026, reflecting sustained inflows from overseas Filipinos (OFs).
The United States remained the top source of inflows, followed by Singapore and Saudi Arabia, based on reported remittance transactions by origin.
Seasonally-adjusted personal remittances, which include cash sent through banks and informal channels as well as remittances in kind, also rose slightly in May 2026.
Cash and personal remittances also grew in the period of January-May 2026. This highlights the sustained role of OFs in supporting household income, spending, and overall domestic demand. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
