A senator who is the subject of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court remains missing since he left the Senate on Thursday morning.

Ronald Dela Rosa, who the ICC claims is involved in the crimes of humanity during the term of former President Rodrigo Duterte, did not show up in today's Senate plenary session where the Upper Chamber convened as an impeachment court.

''I don't know where he is,'' said Senator Robin Padilla in an interview with Bilyonaryo News Channel late Monday, Padilla said he and Dela Rosa were together from Monday until Wednesday.

Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida told a press conference on Friday that if Dela Rosa will leave the country, he will be arrested. Vida added that ICC arrest warrant is valid.

The Office of the Solicitor General said on Saturday, in its reply to the Supreme Court, that Dela Rosa is liable to be arrested on the strength of the ICC warrant.

Dela Rosa's lawyers, who earlier filed a petition before the SC to stop the arrest warrant, will be filing their reply. Jimmy Bondoc, one of Dela Rosa's lawyers, told The Big Story that he does not know where his client is.

Dela Rosa appeared last Monday after being absent since November. As agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) tried to serve the ICC warrant, Dela Rosa sprinted past them as he entered the Senate with the agents at his heels.

Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano approved a resolution placing Dela Rosa under Senate protection.

On Wednesday night after the Senate adjourned, shots rang out in the second floor between the Senate sergeant at arms and alleged NBI agents. A few hours after the situation calmed down, Dela Rosa was said to have left the building. PHS
