AFP says rotation and resupply mission in Ayungin Shoal successful
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said on Thursday that a recent rotation and resupply (RoRe) mission in Ayungin Shoal was successful.
Retired Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, AFP spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, said the RoRe mission for personnel stationed at the grounded World War II Philippine Navy vessel in Ayungin Shoal was done successfully.
"Last September it was suspended. This time it was conducted successfully," he said.
"We will continue performing RoRe and other activities in the maritime domain," he added.
China claimed that the RoRe mission to BRP Sierra Madre conducted last Wednesday was permitted and monitored by the China Coast Guard.
China's claim was dismissed by Trinidad, saying it is just one of the false narratives created by the Chinese.
"Who believes them? Each time they invent a new narrative no one believes them," he said.
"Not only in the West Philippine Sea, If you look at Scarborough they claim Scarborough, they claim Batanes, there have been a lot of false narratives they keep inventing just to further their agenda," he added. Robina Asido/PHS
