The Philippine Air Force (PAF) formally accepted another batch of two newly acquired Bell 412EPX utility helicopters in a ceremony in Pasay City on Tuesday, a military spokesman said Wednesday.

Col. Alvin Jay Capinguian, PAF spokesman, said the formal acceptance and blessing of the second batch Bell 412EPX helicopters from Bell Textron Inc. was presided by PAF Commanding General Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura in a ceremony at Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base.

In his speech, Cordura stressed the need for diligent care and strategic employment of the helicopters.

He also urged all the PAF personnel involved in operating and maintaining the helicopters to embody professionalism, competence, and accountability, ensuring that these assets are maximized to fulfill the PAF’s organizational mandate.

Capinguian said the two helicopters which will be operated by the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing are expected to significantly enhance the PAF’s operational capabilities, specifically in the areas of air mobility and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.

The first batch of Bell 412EPX composed of two aircraft was formally accepted last May 19.

The government is acquiring a total of eight Bell 412EPX helicopters from Bell Textron Inc. under the Additional Utility Helicopter Acquisition Project which will be completed by 2027.

With the two new aircraft, the PAF now operates a total fleet of 18 Bell 412 helicopters, further strengthening its capability to conduct rapid deployment and sustain critical operations nationwide. Robina Asido/PHS
