On August 26, Ambassador Endo Kazuya paid a farewell courtesy call on Finance Secretary Frederick Go.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable progress achieved in Japan-Philippines economic and financial cooperation.

Key developments, including the New Tax Convention between the two countries and robust collaboration in the infrastructure sector through Official Development Assistance (ODA), are among the bilateral milestones that have helped elevate our bilateral relations to new heights.

Ambassador Endo conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Department of Finance for their steadfast cooperation and support throughout his tenure. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining a close partnership to advance shared priorities and further enhance the enduring ties between Japan and the Philippines.

On Tuesday, Ambassador Endo Kazuya paid a farewell call on Economy, Planning, and Development Secretary Arsenio Balisacan.

Ambassador Endo expressed his gratitude for Balisacan’s leadership in advancing Japan-Philippines economic relations, while Balisacan thanked Ambassador Endo for his valuable contributions to economic development cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides looked forward to further strengthening Japan-Philippines cooperation and partnership in the years ahead.

Ambassador Endo Kazuya also paid a farewell call on Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian, accompanied by Majority Leader and chairman of the Philippine-Japan Parliamentary Association Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, and chairman of the Finance Committee Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito.

Ambassador Endo expressed his gratitude for the Senate’s initiatives towards advancing Japan-Philippines cooperation in security, economy, and various other areas, including the adoption of the CREATE MORE Law and the Japan-Philippines Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA).

He also sought the Senate’s continued support in further deepening bilateral relations and promoting Japanese companies’ activities in the Philippines.

Likewise, Senate President Gatchalian welcomed the growing bilateral cooperation and active parliamentary exchanges between the two countries. He also expressed his commitment to cooperating with the Government of Japan to enhance the Philippines’ business environment and encourage more opportunities for Japanese companies in the country.
