The Philippine Navy welcomed members of the Japan Diet, led by Fujita Fumitake, co-representative of the Nippon Ishin (Japan Innovation) Party, during a courtesy visit at the Navy Headquarters on Tuesday

Maj. Gen. Edwin Amadar, vice commander received Fumitake and the Japan Diet delegation. During the engagement, he expressed the Philippine Navy's appreciation for Japan's steadfast support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine Navy, underscoring the enduring relationship between the two nations anchored on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Discussions centered on the shared commitment of both countries to promoting peace, stability, and maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region. The meeting also explored opportunities to further strengthen practical defense cooperation and address shared regional security challenges through sustained dialogue and collaboration.
