Slow-moving Tropical Storm ''Maymay'', located west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, is expected to make landfall over Ilocos Norte and traverse the landmass of Northern and Central Luzon until Thursday.

In its 5 pm bulletin on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said ''Maymay'' was located 145 kilometers west of Sinait and is moving north northwest at 10 kilometers per hour.

Metro Manila will be affected by the enhanced southwest monsoon, with Pagasa forecasting rains of between 50 millimeters and 100 millimeters in areas including Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and Occidental Mindoro from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday.

''Maymay'' is expected to spawn rains higher than 200 millimeters are expected in Ilocos Sur, La Union and Benguet. Volume of between 100 millimeters and 200 millimeters is forecast over Pangasinan, Abra, Zambales, Kalinga, Mountain Province and Ifugao.

Rains of between 50 millimeters and 100 millimeters are expected at Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Nueva Vizcaya, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Pampanga and Bulacan.
