Duterte's net satisfaction rating up slightly to 32%
Amid the impeachment trial at the Senate, most Filipinos remain satisfied with Vice President Sara Duterte, a recent national Social Weather Survey (SWS) showed on Thursday.
The poll, done from June 20 to 29 or a week before the start of the impeachment trial, found 58 percent were satisfied and 26 percent were dissatisfied with the performance of Duterte for a net of 32 percent. This was two percentage points higher than March's ratings of 54 percent satisfied and 25 percent dissatisfied for a 29 percent.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr's net satisfaction rating rebounded from a record low of minus 15 percent to minus seven percent, SWS said a few days ago.
It also showed that 45 percent were satisfied and 27 percent were dissatisfied with Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian, 33 percent were satisfied and 26 percent were dissatisfied with Speaker Faustino Dy III, and 35 percent were satisfied and 26 percent were dissatisfied with Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.
Net satisfaction ratings (percent satisfied minus percent dissatisfied) of Duterte were "good" at +31, "moderate" for Gatchalian at +18, "neutral" for Dy at +8 and "moderate" for Gesmundo at +10.
"Compared to March 2026, net satisfaction rose by 2 points from moderate +29 to good +31 for Vice-President Duterte. It rose by 4 points from neutral +4 to neutral +8 for Speaker Dy, and by 1 point from neutral +9 to moderate +10 for Chief Justice Gesmundo," the survey stated.
"Net satisfaction with Vice-President Duterte rises in Balance Luzon and Mindanao, but falls in Metro Manila; unchanged in the Visayas," it added. Robina Asido/PHS
