At least 27 dead, 13 missing from ''Inday'', enhanced southwest monsoon, says OCD
The death toll due to the combined effect of enhanced southwest monsoon and Typhoon ''Inday'' rose to 27 while 13 remain missing, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported on Thursday.
OCD Deputy Spokesperson Diego Agustin Mariano said seven people died in Lanao del Sur, 10 in Sarangani, four in Davao Occidental, two in Bukidnon, one in Zamboanga del Sur, two in Zamboanga Sibugay and another one in Iloilo.
He said five are missing in Davao Occidental, one in Maguindanao Del Sur, four in Lanao del Sur, two in Sarangani and one in Zamboanga del Sur.
However, the OCD noted that "validation of the reported casualties is still ongoing".
Losses to agriculture reached P12.50 million while infrastructure damage rose to P4.18 million .
Mariano said the affected population also increased to 254,059 families or 1.07 million persons, out of which 3,712 families or 16,595 individuals remained at 60 evacuation sites. Robina Asido/PHS
