Marcos vows continued support and modernization of the Philippine Air Force
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday vowed that the government will continue to extend its support to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and its modernization program as it celebrated the PAF’s 79th Founding Anniversary at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.
“It is only fitting, therefore, that your government remains steadfast in supporting the Air Force as it fulfills its mandate,” Marcos said in his speech during the celebration.
“This is particularly important as modern challenges grow increasingly complex, requiring sustained investments in your capabilities so that you can perform your duties more safely and effectively,” the President said.
Marcos said that under the PAF Modernization Program, they have strengthened operational capabilities through the acquisition of helicopters, aircraft, and surveillance radar systems.
“Be assured that the Administration is committed to providing the Philippine Air Force with the resources, opportunities, and support necessary to carry out your mission with honor and excellence,” Marcos said.
Equally important is the government’s sustained investment in the people who make these capabilities meaningful, the Chief Executive said.
“We continue to invest in your development through specialized intelligence training, advanced flight simulation programs, and participation in exercises with other major services and international counterparts,” said Marcos.
The President said the government shall also support programs that protect the mental health and overall well-being of every Airman and Airwoman of the PAF.
“In line with this, I also reiterate my directive to the Philippine Air Force to ensure the airworthiness of all its aircraft and to uphold rigorous safety protocols in mission and training activities,” President Marcos said, as he noted that the aircraft carry the women and men who serve the nation.
“Their safety must always remain paramount,” the President said.
As Commander-in-Chief, Marcos encouraged the PAF personnel to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity.
“Above all, remain faithful to your constitutional duty to protect our people and defend the democratic institutions that safeguard our freedoms,” said Marcos. Presidential News Desk
