Two workers died while another one was injured after a dig site in Las Piñas City collapsed on Sunday.

In a radio interview, Lt. Col. Teoson Rosarito, Assistant Chief of Police for Operations, said based on initial report five workers were trapped when a dig site of Maynilad Water Service Inc. in Barangay Pamplona II suddenly collapsed around 2:52 pm.

Rosarito said two survived, one was rushed to hospital due to injuries while two others died and recovered around 4pm of the same day.

Following the incident the construction activity which is related to a main water pipe of Maynilad was temporarily halted due to the ongoing investigation.

Rosarito said the investigator will also determine the possible liability of Maynilad in the incident. Robina Asido/PHS
