Residents of Glan municipality in Sarangani, which was hard hit during Monday's 7.8 magnitude quake, are running out of food, water and fuel after the tremor severely isolated the town due to impassable roads and bridges.

In a radio interview, Joana Grace Lapore, Sarangani provincial information officer, said power and water in the municipality of Glan is still interrupted days after the powerful tremor struck the province.

Lapore added that internet and telco lines in many areas of Glan are not working while supply of food, drinking water and fuel are depleting.

"The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is crossing the Sarangani Bay to deliver the assistance from the government," she said.

She added that many landslides are being reported.

Lapore said Glan recorded the highest number of casualties in the areas affected by the quake, with 12 deaths and 10 missing.

As of Thursday, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) recorded 47 deaths, 688 injured and 31 other people remain missing.

Families affected climbed to 75,324 or 346,449 individuals while 41 cities and municipalities are still experiencing power interruption.
