NCR police on full alert for Saturday's martial law anniversary rallies
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be placed on full alert starting Saturday in preparation for the protests anticipated in different parts of Metro Manila on the 54th commemoration of the declaration of martial law by the father of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
In a press briefing in Camp Crame on Thursday, Philippine National Police spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co said thousands of policemen will be deployed to ensure peace and security in the NCR.
"Full alert status has been declared in the NCRPO. The transition will start at 12 midnight on Saturday, September 19," he said.
"Full deployment will be carried out on Saturday afternoon at 5pm. We will be deploying 15,746 personnel," he added.
The full alert status is the highest operational readiness and security deployment of the PNP.
