Vice President Sara Duterte called on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to resign over alleged abuses during a protest action outside a Quezon City court on Friday.

In her speech, Duterte said efforts to make Marcos step down from his post will continue.

"Fellow countrymen, our fight does not end here. The effort to force the resignation of an addict will continue until it penetrates his broken mind—that he is the problem of the nation. Just like his father who destroyed our country, the son is doing the exact same thing," she said outside a Quezon City court which deferred her arraignment on three counts of grave threats.

In the complaint filed by the Office of Ombudsman, it charged that Duterte said that in 2024 she had contracted a hitman to assassinate Marcos, First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and House Speaker Martin Romualdez if the vice president is killed.

"Remember, let us continuously call for the problem of our nation to leave, the name of that problem is Bongbong Marcos. Resign, get out of there. You are a liar, you are abusive, you are corrupt," she added.

Duterte spoke before her supporters who gathered along Elliptical Road in Quezon City, after attending her arraignment on the three counts of grave threats at the Quezon City Hall of Justice.

Duterte appeared at Quezon City Regional Trial Court with her brother Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte.
