Peso skids to new low of P62.4 vs US dollar
The peso skidded to a new low for the second session on Tuesday, as it closed at P62.4 against the US dollar.
The peso ended at P62.265 on Friday before currency markets went on a break. There was no session on Monday due to national holiday.
Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.3 billion.
The peso's decline has been traced by economists due to a strong dollar and volatile oil prices due to the Middle East tension between the US and Iran. PHS
