The death toll due to the combined effect of tropical cyclones ''Luis'', ''Maymay'' and enhanced southwest monsoon climbed to 19, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported on Tuesday.

OCD Deputy Spokesperson Diego Agustin Mariano said based on the recent data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) five of the additional fatalities were recorded in Benguet province that makes the total death toll reached 12 while Rizal rose to five and Batangas still monitored three.

Mariano said four individuals were still missing and three were from Benguet and another one from Batangas.

The affected population also climbed to 646,676 families or 2,270,862 persons out of which 26,174 families or 94,997 people were being served inside the 919 evacuation centers in the affected regions.

The Department of Agriculture also reported an increase in the damage and losses because of the weather disturbances that reached P197.2 million with 7,989 farmers; 6,973 hectares (ha) of agricultural areas and 5,515 metric tons of volume of production affected.

"Affected commodities include rice, corn, high value crops, livestock, and infrastructure, machineries and equipment," the DA said. Robina Asido/PHS
