''Maymay'' forces cancellation of six local flights
Six domestic flights were cancelled due to the effect of Tropical Storm ''Maymay'' that crossed Bangued, Abra on Thursday.
Over 800 passengers of PAL Express and Cebu Pacific were affected because of the cancellation.
The affected flights were bound to and from Manila, Isabela, Cagayan de Oro and Tuguegarao. Robina Asido/PHS
''Maymay'' was expected to "traverse the mountainous terrain of Northern and Central Luzon before emerging over the eastern coastal waters of Isabela or Cagayan."
"Maymay is forecast to continue weakening while moving further inland. It will weaken into a tropical depression likely this morning and may be downgraded into a remnant low this afternoon or evening," the state weather bureau stated.
"However, due to interaction with the rugged terrain, an earlier weakening is possible. The remnant low of 'Maymay' will move generally southeastward until it merges into the larger circulation of Tropical Cyclone Dolphin," it added. Robina Asido/PHS
