Cabinet approves P7.2T National Expenditure Program for 2027
The Cabinet approved the proposed P7.2 trillion National Expendture Progran on Friday, a day after the Development Budget Coordinating Committee (DBCC) announced this.
''The Cabinet discussed and approved the 2027 National Expenditure Program as presented by the DBM (Department of Budget and Management),'' the official Philippine News Agency said, citing Acting Presidential Communications Secretary Dave Gomez.
Details were not given. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr will submit the 20027 during his State of the Nation Address on July 27.
The DBCC said the proposed national budget is set at P 7.2 trillion, equivalent to 21.7 percent of GDP.
''To support this direction, the government will advance key governance reforms, including the accelerated implementation of the Government Optimization Program, the review and refinement of the performance incentive system, and the institutionalization of Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) efficiency measures. These efforts aim to eliminate unnecessary recurring expenditures and redirect resources toward programs that support vulnerable sectors,'' the DBCC said.
