Marcos orders thorough probe in Leyte school shooting
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr ordered a thorough investigation on the shooting incident at a high school in Tacloban City where three students were killed.
''The President is saddened over what happened,'' said Palace Press Officer and Presidental Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro.
A deeper investigation has been ordered by President Marcos and tighter security measures were imposed on establishments, especially schools, she said.
The justice department is coordinating with the Office of the Regional Prosecutor to investigate the incident, which is being looked into by the Tacloban City Police.
Two minors have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
This is the third violence reported in classrooms since classes opened last June 8. On June 16, seven Grade 5 students were injured when they were reportedly attacked by a Grade 8 student with a kitchen knife. On June 19, a senior high school student was said to have attacked another student in Cavite. PHS
