Two Philippine Air Force (PAF) pilots died after their trainer plane crashed in Benguet on Wednesday.

Col. Ma Christina Basco, PAF public affairs office chief .said the SF-260 trainer aircraft with two pilots on board crashed in Cabuyao, Tuba, Benguet at around 10:30 am.

"We are deeply saddened to inform that both pilots passed," she said.

Basco said the incident happened during "a navigation training flight" from Lipa City in Batangas to Baguio City in Benguet.

It was "one of ten planes that had departed Fernando Air Base in Lipa City en route to Baguio City."

"Following the incident, the PAF immediately coordinated with local government units and the nearest air base," she said.

"An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident," she added. Robina Asido/PHS
